Overview

Dr. Burtt has served as section leader for the second year Cardiology course for over 20 years as the course has integrated Pathophysiology with Pharmacology and Physiology.

He received the Teaching with Technology award in 2011, and has received multiple Dean's Excellence in Teaching awards including the 2019 Department of Medicine Beckwith Family Award for Outstanding Teaching.

He serves as the Medical Director of Inpatient Services for the Cardiovascular Institute at Lifespan, and Director of the Coronary Care Units at Rhode Island Hospital and The Miriam Hospital.

He is Board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology.
