Assistant Professor of Biostatistics

Overview

Jon Steingrimsson is an Assistant Professor of Biostatistics. Jon obtained his PhD in statistics from Cornell University and prior to joining Brown University he was a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biostatistics at Johns Hopkins University.

Dr. Steingrimsson is interested in generalizing or transporting treatment effects or risk prediction models to a different population than was used for original treatment effect estimation or model development. He has also developed machine learning algorithms for risk prediction with censored data and for identifying treatment effect heterogeneity. Dr. Steingrimsson is a member of the ECOG-ACRIN cancer research group. He is the statistician for two ECOG-ACRIN trials, a trial evaluating the effect of multi-parameter MRI for cancer detection and treatment planning for prostate cancer patients (EA8171), and a trial comparing different surveillance strategies for pancreatic cysts (EA2185).
