Clinical Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior

Overview

Karen Oliver, Ph.D. is the Director of the APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (CPP) for the Clinical Psychology Training Programs at Brown: A Consortium of the Providence VA Medical Center, Lifespan, and Care New England. She is the Health Behavior Coordinator for the Providence VA Medical Center and a staff psychologist on the Primary Care Behavioral Health Team.  Her areas of expertise are in behavioral medicine, health promotion and disease prevention, and the integration of mental health treatment within primary care. She was elected as a Society of Behavioral Medicine Fellow in 2018 and received the Alpert Medical School of Brown University Dean's Excellence in Teaching Award in 2013. Dr. Oliver provides clinical supervision to psychology residents and postdoctoral fellows in Primary Care Behavioral Health at the Providence VA Medical Center and career development mentorship and guidance for psychology trainees and junior faculty.
