Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior (Research)

Overview

Anastacia Kudinova is an Assistant Professor (Research) at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Research Scientist at Bradley Hospital. Her program of research focuses on advancing what is known about the biobehavioral mechanisms underlying suicide risk and mood disorders in youth using interdisciplinary methodology. Her current studies examine the interplay between self-referential processing and suicidal thoughts and behavior in youth in the context of proximal risk factors, including sleep regulation, social media use, and minority stress. 


Dr. Kudinova graduated with a BA in psychology from Brigham Young University-Hawaii. She received an MA in clinical psychology at Teacher’s College, Columbia University, and completed a PhD in clinical psychology at the State University of New York at Binghamton. Following a predoctoral internship at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC, she completed a postdoctoral fellowship on a Child Mental Health T32 at the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior (DPHB) at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She joined the DPHB faculty as an Assistant Professor in 2020.
