Andrew Musits, MD, MS is a graduate of Albany Medical College in Albany, NY. He trained in Emergency Medicine at Albany Medical Center where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Musits has formal educational training with a Master of Science in Medical Education from The University of Pittsburgh. He completed a two-year Fellowship in Medical Education and Simulation with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh in conjunction with The Winter Institute for Simulation, Education, and Research (WISER).
Following fellowship, Dr. Musits worked at a busy community hospital near Pittsburgh. At that time, he was Director of Patient Safety Education for WISER. Here, in conjunction with the Office of Patient Safety at the University of Pittsburgh, he developed and implemented simulation-based training and evaluation initiatives.
Currently, Dr. Musits is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He is the Director of the Medical Simulation Fellowship and serves as core faculty for the Emergency Medicine Residency. Dr. Musits is the Director of the Lifespan Medical Simulation Center. His main interests include curriculum development and implementation for all levels of trainees and practicing professionals. Furthermore, his background and experiences include educational research, faculty development, and systems evaluation through in-situ simulation. Dr. Musits’ passion is improving patient care and patient safety through innovative and engaging education for clinicians at all levels.
Dr. Musits is board certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He provides bedside education and patient care at Rhode Island Hospital and Miriam Hospital.
