Overview

Stephanie Catanese, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine, Clinician Educator at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University and an Associate Program Director of the General Internal Medicine residency program at Rhode Island Hospital. She completed her undergraduate degree in Nutrition at University of Florida and graduated from Temple University Medical School in Philadelphia. She moved to Rhode Island for her residency training and after completing a chief medical residency year, joined the faculty in 2014.

She primarily works as an outpatient primary care physician and spends several months each year teaching residents and students on the medical wards at Rhode Island Hospital. Her expertise is in medical education with a focus on resident remediation. She has created a remediation toolbox which has been presented at national conferences across the country and is currently being used at various academic institutions.
