Overview

Dr. Andrea S. Mendoza-Vasconez received her PhD in Public Health (Health Behavior) from the UC San Diego/San Diego State University Joint Doctoral Program in Public Health and completed her postdoctoral training at the Stanford Prevention Research Center.

Her research has primarily focused on the promotion and maintenance of physical activity among Latino populations, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. Dr. Mendoza-Vasconez is interested in the use of technology to disseminate and tailor interventions in a behavioral precision medicine approach, and in the use of dissemination and implementation science methods for population-level impact. She is also interested in the promotion of behaviors that can impact both health and environmental sustainability, particularly behaviors related to policy advocacy.
