research overview

I am interested in applying the tools of health services research to neurology and neurocritical care among older persons. Specifically, I utilize nationwide datasets from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to answer questions related to long term outcome and quality of care. Measures of interest include acute hospital readmission, regional variation in practice, costs of care, long term functional status.  I work in collaboration with a team of researchers at Brown Center for Gerontology and Health Care Research and the Division of Health Services, Policy & Practice at the Brown School of Public Health.
