Dr. Collette Sosnowy, PhD, is Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She received her PhD in psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York in 2013. She has expertise in qualitative methods and conducts research aimed at linking people at high risk of HIV to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a highly effective medication that prevents people from acquiring HIV. Her research also focuses on substance use among women with a history of criminal justice involvement and sex work. Previously, Dr. Sosnowy worked on projects across a variety of health topics, including patient experience, health communication and social media, adults with disability, and public health policy. She has worked with numerous state and local agencies and community based organizations to evaluate and improve public health programs.
