Erika Werner Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Associate Professor of Epidemiology

Dr. Werner is a Maternal Fetal Medicine physician and clinical researcher.  She is a national expert on cost effective practices in obstetrics.  Her research focuses on using pregnancy as a predictor of future health.  She is the co-director of the Hassenfeld Prospective Cohort at Brown University, a pregnancy and birth cohort including over 6000 women and children aimed at improving child health through research.  She has funding from the American Diabetes Association and the NIH.  Additionally she is the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Director at Women & Infants Hospital and the NICHD Maternal Fetal Medicine Network alternate PI.  Her areas of expertise  include diabetes in pregnancy, preeclampsia and preterm birth and cost-effective analysis.
