Irene Glasser, Ph.D. is an anthropologist whose research has focused on homelessness and addictions and recovery. She conducted ethnographic research on homeless populations for the US Census in 1990 and 2010. Glasser is the author of More Than Bread: Ethnography of a Soup Kitchen, Homelessness in Global Perspective, Braving the Street: Anthropology of Homelessness, and Anthropology of Addictions and Recovery. She is currently Adjunct Professor in Anthropology at Brown University and is Research Associate at the Center for Alcohol and Addiction Studies at Brown University.
