I was trained in both literary studies and cultural anthropology, completing field research in Paris and Réunion Island. I am particularly interested in the political, epistemological, and aesthetic relationships between anthropology, literature, and cinema in the (post)colonial world. My first book, titled Experiments with Empire: Anthropology and Fiction in the French Atlantic will be published in May 2019 with Duke University Press. The book is part of the Theory in Forms series, edited by Nancy Rose Hunt, Achille Mbembe, and Juan Obarrio.
My current interests include political theory; the relationship between political economy and aesthetics; anthropological theory; literature, politics, and film from West Africa, the Caribbean, and the Indian Ocean.
