Overview

Jin O-Uchi MD, PhD is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Brown University and Research Scientist at the Rhode Island Hospital (RIH). Dr. O-Uchi received the MD and PhD degree from Jikei University School of Medicine in Japan. He did a postdoctoral fellowship at University of Rochester and worked as an Instructor and a Research Assistant Professor at Thomas Jefferson University. Subsequently, he joined CVRC at RIH and Brown University as an Assistant Professor of Medicine on Jan 2016. His research potential has been recognized at a national level by grant awards from NIH/NHLBI, NIH/NIGMS, and American Heart Association (AHA). He also received a Richard J. Bing Award (1st prize) from International Society for Heart Research (ISHR), Outstanding Early Career Investigator Award (finalist) from AHA Basic Cardiovascular Sciences (BCVS), Research Career Enhancement Award from American Physiological Society (APS), APS New Investigator Award (1st prize) from Cell and Molecular Physiology Section and APS Shih-Chun Wang Young Investigator Award.
