Title: A Multi-center National Prospective Study of Pregnancy and Neonatal Outcomes in Women with IBD (IBD in Pregnancy)
Funding: Crohn's Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA)
Summary: This study is conducted to determine whether the rates of birth defects, miscarriages, premature births, and other outcomes in women with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) exposed to azathioprine/6MP or anti TNF therapy (Remicade, Humara, Cimzia) are greater than those among IBD affected women not taking these medications. The secondary purpose of this study is to create a national prospective pregnancy registry among members of the CCFA Clinical Research Alliance to study pregnancy and neonatal outcomes.
Patients are identified by the GI practice at Women & Infants' Hospital.
