Zilla H. Hussain, MD, is a gastroenterologist with Lifespan Physician Group and a clinical assistant professor of medicine at Alpert Medical School Brown University. Originally from New York, she recieved her undergraduate degree from New York University and her medical degree from State University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in New York. She moved to New England for internal medicine residency at Boston University Medical Center after which completed her fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at Dartmouth-Hitchock Medical Center. Next, she completed an advanced fellowship in esophageal diseases at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center during which time she was also an instructor of medicine at Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire.
In her practice at LPG she specalizes in the care of patients with complex esophageal disease and esophageal motility disorders as well as general gastroenterologya nd hepatology. Both her clinical and research areas of interst include Gastrointestinal Reflux Disease, Esophageal Motility Disorders, Barrett’s Esophagus, Eosinophilic Esophagitis, and Achalasia. She enjoys mentoring Brown Medical Students and housestaff who have an interest in gastroenterology. She is fluent in Englihs, Urdu, and Hindi.
