Overview

Dr. Nie is a practicing child neurologist and epileptologist at the Children’s Neurodevelopment Center (CNDC) at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, RI. He is board-certified by the ABPN in child neurology and epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology. Dr. Nie sees pediatric patients affected by various types of epilepsy and neurological disorders. Additionally, he serves as a faculty member in the clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy fellowship programs, and as an attending physician in the multidisciplinary epilepsy surgery program at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children's Hospital. Previously, he conducted research in Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) to better understand the neurobiology of autism and epilepsy, conditions commonly seen in patients with TSC. His research was funded by Autism Speaks and The Manton Center for Orphan Disease Research at Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Nie joined the Lifespan Physician Group (LPG) and Brown University in July 2020. His current research interest focuses on assessing electrophysiological and molecular biomarkers in early-life epilepsies, which are often associated with other neurodevelopmental conditions.
