Dr. Amin completed his Medical Degree and Pathology Residency at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences (Shiraz, Iran). He completed his Pathology Residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital Center (New York, NY) where he served one year as chief resident. He continued his training as a fellow in Oncology/Surgical Pathology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY) and in Genitourinary Pathology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital (Baltimore, MD). Currently, he is on the faculty of Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University as an Associate Professor of Pathology. Dr. Amin is the director of the clinical services in genitourinary pathology and his primary office is located at The Miriam Hospital.

Clinical and translational research in prostate, urinary bladder and renal tumors
QA/QC of pathology reports
I am interested in clinical and translational research in the field of pathology with a special interest in GU pathology.
Due to prevalence of urothelial carcinoma in the New England area, I have mainly been working on means to improve diagnosis and management of urothelial carcinoma. At the same time, I am interested in finding diagnostic and prognostic markers for prostate, kidney and testicular tumors.
I should add that I have extensively worked on the quality assurance in pathology reports.
