Associate Professor of Family Medicine, Clinician Educator

Overview

Andrea Arena received a BA in anthropology from the University of Vermont and MD from SUNY-Downstate in New York City. She completed her training at Columbia University's Family Medicine Residency Program where she served as chief resident.  She completed a Faculty Leadership Development Fellowship at Brown  and a mini-fellowship in Reproductive Health at Rochester University Department of Family Medicine. Dr Arena worked in community health centers in Boston and served as Medical Director for the SSTAR community health center in Fall River before opening a full service micropractice. She serves as the Co-Director of Medical Education for the Family Medicine Clerkship at Brown, the faculty advisor to the Family Medicine Interest Group and Clinica Esperanza's Women's Clinic, and is involved in reproductive health and family planning advocacy and research.
