Andrea Arena, MD is Associate Professor of Family Medicine, Clinician Educator at Brown. She is the Co-Director of Medical Student Education, Director of Family Medicine Sub-Internships and Family Medicine electives, and the faculty advisor for Clinica Esperanza's gynecologic clinic and the Family Medicine Interest Group. She directs the colposcopy/gyneceologic procedures and MAT clinics at the Brown Family Residency clinic in Pawtucket, where she also sees primary care patients.
Dr Arena has worked in community health centers in Boston and served as Medical Director for the SSTAR community health center and inpatient detox in Fall River before opening a full service micropractice. She is particularly interested in teaching, advocacy and research related to reproductive health and substance use disorders and the integration of traditionally stigmatized medicine into primary care.
