Andrea Arena, MD is an Associate Professor of Family Medicine, Clinician Educator at Brown University. She is board certified in Addiction Medicine and holds multiple leadership roles, including Director of Medical Student Education, Director of Family Medicine Sub-Internships and Electives, and faculty advisor for Clinica Esperanza’s gynecologic clinic and the Family Medicine Interest Group.
Dr. Arena leads both the colposcopy and gynecologic procedures clinic and the Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) clinic at the Brown Family Medicine Residency in Pawtucket, where she also provides comprehensive primary care.
Prior to her work at Brown, Dr. Arena practiced in community health centers in Boston and served as Medical Director for the SSTAR Community Health Center and inpatient detoxification program in Fall River. She later founded and operated a full-service micropractice.
Her teaching, advocacy, and research focus on reproductive health, substance use disorders, and the integration of traditionally stigmatized care into primary care practice.
