Aristides I. Cruz, Jr. MD, MBA is Associate Professor of Orthopaedics in the Department of Orthopaedics at Brown. He is a Pediatric Orthopaedic surgeon specializing in the treatment of orthopaedic conditions in children and adolescents. His areas of interest include traumatic injuries and fracture care, treatment of pediatric and adolescent sports related conditions, and general pediatric orthopaedics.
Dr. Cruz obtained his undergraduate degree in 2002 from Tufts University. He went on to obtain his medical degree in 2006 from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He completed his orthopedic residency training at Yale-New Haven Hospital/Yale University in New Haven, CT. After residency, he served in the United States Air Force as an Orthopaedic Surgeon. He was honored with multiple awards including the Air Force Commendation medal. After being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 2014, Dr. Cruz furthered his training, completing a fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedic Surgery at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In 2016, Dr. Cruz earned his Master of Business Administration from Brandeis University’s Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Physician Executive MBA program.
