Brief Bio
Dr. Curtin joined the Department in 1991. She is a gerontological nurse practitioner and responsible for the geriatric education of the Family Medicine and Internal Medicine resident physicians. She also coordinates the geriatric/rehabilitation block rotation and the longitudinal geriatric curriculum. She teaches Family Medicine and Internal Medicine resident physicians the assessment and management of nursing home and homebound patients. She also serves as a consultant for the inpatient Family Medicine teams and the resident physiciansà geriatric assessments. Her areas of research include improving the functional and cognitive ability of older adults and older adults with dementia, curriculum development in geriatrics, interdisciplinary teams, and community and international health. She is fluent in Spanish.
