Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior, Clinician Educator

Overview

Dr. Manning is an assistant professor, clinician educator in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. Dr. Manning is an attending child psychiatrist on the pediatric psychiatry consultation-liaison service at Hasbro Children’s HospitalShe specializes in treating youth with medical complexity. 

Dr. Manning’s research interests include evaluating the effects of peer mentorship on health outcomes for youth with chronic physical conditions.  Dr. Manning is passionate about improving behavioral health education for trainees and primary care providers. She is the clinical director for PediPRN, Rhode Island's psychiatry acccess line for pediatric primary care providers and serves as an integrated pediatric psychaitrist in Hasbro's primary care clinic. 

Dr. Manning completed her undergradute degree at Cornell University with a degree in psychology and later obtained her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine. She completed Triple Board combined residency and fellowship training in pediatrics, adult psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry at Brown University/Rhode Island Hospital. Her teaching roles inlude serving as the course director for the Triple Board elective rotation as well as clinical supervision of trainees.
