Alison Riese MD MPH is a general pediatrician at Hasbro Children's Hospital, with an interest in adolescent health risk behaviors and medical education. She graduated magna cum laude from Amherst College in 2000. After 5 years teaching science in an urban middle school, Dr. Riese attended medical school at University of Massachusetts. In 2009, she came to Rhode Island for her pediatrics residency at the Hasbro Children's Hospital/Brown University Program. She went on to complete a two-year research fellowship with the Injury Prevention Center of Rhode Island Hospital and her MPH at Brown University. Her research interests include adolescent health risk behaviors, including youth violence and bullying, substance use, and adolescent contraception and sexual health. She previously taught 2 graduate coures in Alpert Medical School's Primary Care-Population Medicine dual-degree program and served as one of the Assistant Clerkship Directors for the Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship. She now enjoys her role as Clerkship Director for Pediatrics.
