Andrew William Dixon, MD received a BA in English from Carleton College and MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He was awarded a National Health Service Corps scholarship while in medical school. He completed a residency at United Family Medicine in Saint Paul, MN in 2016, and afterwards worked at Unity Health Care, a network of Federally Qualified Health Care in Washington, DC. While at Unity, he served as Regional Director of Medical Education for a campus of ATSU School of Osteopathic Medicine, and then as the Associate Program Director responsible for the Washington training location of The Wright Center's National Family Medicine Residency Program. He received a certificate in Asylum Evaluations from Physicians for Human Rights and has performed volunteer evaluations since 2019. He completed ultrasound trainings from the Global Ultrasound Institute, Northeastern University, and the Midwifery Consulting Group and, together with co-creator Sam Hwu MD, created a 12 module Point of Care Ultrasound curriculum for the NFMR.
