Brett Goudie, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Hasbro Children's Hospital and a three-year fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Goudie joined the pediatric cardiology division at Hasbro Children's Hospital in 2011, following five years at the Nemours Cardiac Center/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Delaware. There he gained experience with management of heart failure and heart transplantation, as well as preoperative and postoperative management of congenital heart disease in the cardiac ICU setting.
Dr. Goudie is a general outpatient cardiologist with additional focus on noninvasive imaging and exercise physiology. He is board certified in pediatric cardiology. He is an assistant professor of pediatrics (clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and served on the board of the Southern New England chapter of the American Heart Association through 2019. He is engaged in research with the New England Congenital Cardiology Association, currently studying treatments to attenuate aortic dilation in patients with bicuspid aortic valve. He participates in several other clinical research and collaborative projects both within the division of Pediatric Cardiology and the Department of Pediatrics and is currently engaged in a retrospective study of ischemia in the pediatric exercise stress lab.
