Dr. Kao is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified school psychologist. She is a staff psychologist at the Children’s Neurodevelopment Center at Rhode Island Hospital/Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Her research interests have focused on the adjustment of siblings of children with developmental disabilities and chronic illnesses, and cultural influences on sibling and family adjustment. Dr. Kao received her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Virginia. She completed her internship in clinical psychology at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in New York, and her fellowship in pediatric psychology at Brown Medical School.
