Bryce Perler studies how our food system interfaces with health and disease. He is currently working to explore the impact of increased accessibility and affordability of fruits and vegetables with dietary quality and clinical relevant health outcomes. He will be utilizing new point of care dietary biomarkers as an objective measure for dietary quality. Given the extensive network of our food systems and the ongoing effort to enhance sustainability, Dr. Perler is working closely with the medical school to pilot programs that reduce food waste within the hospital system. His ultimate goal is to enhance the sustainability of our food system, expand food as medicine efforts, and help to reduce food waste in order to help catalyze a more holistic interconnected approach to food and health.
