Overview

Dr. D'Angelo completed her graduate training in Medical/Clinical Psychology with a focus in pediatric psychology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After her clinical residency year at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware, she completed her postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology at Brown University/Hasbro Children’s Hospital where she stayed on afterwards as a Staff Psychologist in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and currently as an Assistant Professor (Clinican Educator) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior.

 

Her clinical interests include delivering interventions to children with chronic illnesses and their families across settings and she has a particular interest in tailoring and delivering individual and group-based interventions to diverse, underserved, and at-risk populations including youth with sickle cell disease. Her research interests complement her clinical work with a focus broadly on promoting coping and adjustment within pediatric chornic illness and understanding and addressing factors that contribute to pediatric health disparities across various pediatric health conditions including asthma and sickle cell disease.
