Dr. MacDonnell’s teaching and research interests focus on Inter-professional Education practice and pedagogy.. She has helped to establish a collection of cooperative educational curricula, conducted with the University’s College of Nursing and Physical Therapy, Rhode Island College School of Nursing and it’s Graduate School of Social Work and the Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University.
Dr. MacDonnell’s clinical teaching, practice and research interests are focused on diseases of the eye and skin. She was an invited speaker presenting on “Ocular Symptoms in Your Pharmacy: the Management of Common Eye Conditions” at the American Pharmacists Association’s 2015 annual meeting held in San Diego California. She also recently authored an “in-book” continuation education monograph titled: “The Role of the Specialty Pharmacist in Optimizing the Quality of Care for Patients with Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis.”
