Ellis Hershkowitz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Brown and is interested in mathematical aspects of computation and algorithms. His favorite research questions deal with understanding how to efficiently solve and approximate computationally-challenging problems. Particular areas of enjoyment include graph algorithms, approximation algorithms and metric embeddings.
Ellis received a PhD in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2022 after which he spent a year as a postdoc in the ETH Zürich Math Department. He is also a Brown alum and did both a master's and undergraduate degree at Brown.
