Associate Professor of Medicine, Clinician Educator

Overview

Dino Messina MD PhD FACP received his MD and PhD from the State University of New York in Syracuse. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and was elected as a Fellow of the American College of Physicians in 2012. In 2016, he joined the faculty at Brown as an Assistant Clinical Professor with the Department of General Internal Medicine as the Medical Director of the Center for Primary Care. In 2018 he was promoted to Associate Professor of Medicine. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Messina's areas of academic interest include: improving health outcomes for vulnerable patient populations through team-based care; the impact of health literacy on chronic disease management; improving the continuity clinic experience for medical trainees.

In his spare time he enjoys cycling, kayak fishing and hiking, and spening time with his wife and children
