Overview

Dr. Tammaro is originally from Brooklyn New York and has served as the Brown Internal Medicine Residency Director since 1991. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester, MA, followed by a Chief Resident Year, during which he developed his interest in Graduate Medical Education. He has served as the Internal Medicine Residency Director at Brown for over 25 years.

Dr. Tammaro’s clinical practice is hospital-based, serving as inpatient attending on the teaching wards at Rhode Island Hospital 3 months of the year. He also serves as Co-Director of the General Medicine Consult Service at Rhode Island Hospital, providing perioperative care for patients with surgical and other non-Internal Medicine colleagues.
