Assistant Professor of Health Services, Policy and Practice

Overview

Dr. Elyse Couch is an Assistant Professor of Health Services Policy and Practice at the Center for Evidence Synthesis at Brown University School of Public Health. She holds a PhD in Health Service and Population Research from King's College London and completed her postdoctoral training at Brown University's School of Public Health's Center for Gerontology and Healthcare Research.

Dr. Couch's research focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer's disease and other dementias. Her research has examined the impact of early diagnosis, healthcare utilization, and novel Alzheimer's disease biomarkers on patients and their caregivers. Her research is interdisciplinary, drawing on a range of research methods including epidemiology, qualitative methods, and systematic reviews.

Dr. Couch also supports and leads review projects for  the AHRQ-designated Brown University Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC).

She currently has projects focusing on:
- The association between a diagnosis of MCI and patient and caregiver outcomes for Medicare beneficiaries
- Primary care clinicians' use of AD biomarkers
- Patient and care partner experiences of anti-amyloid therapies
