Clinical Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior

Overview

Dr. Pingitore is a child and adolescent psychiatric clinical nurse specialist who started her career more than 30 years ago in child and adolescent psychiatric nursing.  She received her bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, her master’s degree from the University of San Francisco and her PhD from the University of Rhode Island.  She has worked in a variety of settings throughout her career including inpatient, outpatient and partial hospital programs, conducting individual, family and group psychotherapy.  Currently, Dr. Pingitore practices at Hasbro Children’s Hospital in Providence, RI where she maintains an active group psychotherapy practice in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.  In addition to this role, she continues as a member of the Inpatient Pediatric Psychiatric Consultation team, providing psychiatric consultation to patients, families and colleagues.  Dr. Pingitore is also a member of the Crisis Response Team at Hasbro and is frequently called upon to provide psychological debriefings and interventions to colleagues related to difficult and traumatic events in the workplace.  Dr. Pingitore holds an ANCC Board Certification as a Child and Adolescent Clinical Nurse Specialist with prescriptive privileges and is certified in Group Psychotherapy and Disaster Mental Health.  Her research interests include interpersonal group psychotherapy with adolescents and group work with multidisciplinary colleagues.  This past year, Dr. Pingitore received the national APNA Advanced Practice Nurse of the Year award for Excellence in Nursing Practice.
