Fabien Siles was born in Aix-en-Provence, France. He earned his License (Bachelor Degree) and Master's from Aix-Marseille Université. He came to the United States as an exchange student during his Master's, and got his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Throughout his PhD studies, he was Assistant Director of the French House at UW-Madison.
Fabien's research focuses on contemporary French literature. He explores the depictions of modernization of the French "territoire" through the concept of the "aménagement du territoire" (spatial planning). Fabien teaches various courses in French and supervises Graduate Teaching Assistants in the department of French and Francophone Studies. Fabien also loves going outside to hike and fish.
