Dr. Touzard Romo completed her Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases training at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital and Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL. She joined the T-32 postdoctoral fellowship in HIV and co-infections at The Miriam Hospital in 2012 and in 2016 transitioned to attending physician in Infectious Diseases. She leads the Infectious Diseases inpatient consult service at Newport Hospital and is the Director of Infection Control and Antimicrobial Stewardship at Newport Hospital. Her research focus has been antoretroviral toxicity and prosthetic joint infections and currently works collaboratively with the infection control and antimicrobial stewardship teams at Lifespan. She is fluent is Spanish and serves as HIV primary care provider, particularly witihin the Hispanic community.
