Isabel Vogt's research is in the interface between algebraic geometry (the study of the geometry of solutions to polynomial equations) and number theory (the study of the rational numbers their generalizations).  Her main work involves the geometry of algebraic curves and their moduli spaces, rational and low degree points on varieties, and the interactions between these two topics.
