Overview

Dr. Ibrahim Yusuf Abubeker is a Senior Associate Consultant in General Internal Medicine at Mayo Clinic Rochester. Before this, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Brown University, where he remained as Core Faculty, Assistant Professor of Medicine, and Co-Director of the POCUS program. He also completed an Internal Medicine residency at Hamad Medical Corporation - Weill Cornell Qatar, serving as Chief Resident and spearheading the POCUS program development.

Dr. Abubeker is deeply committed to medical work in resource-limited countries, especially in East Africa, and has been active in Refugee health initiatives in Rhode Island. Passionate about medical education, he teaches essential clinical skills, focusing on physical examination, bedside procedures, and POCUS while contributing to the Sim Center's escalation of care.

His dedication to teaching excellence has earned him multiple awards, including the Dean's Excellence in Teaching Award, Dean's Positive Champion for Learning Environment, Resident Teaching Award, and Excellence in Primary Care Award. Additionally, he was recognized as the best senior resident during his residency at Hamad Medical Corporation.

Dr. Abubeker remains dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, advancing global health practices, and significantly contributing to medical education.
