Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior (Research)

Overview

Dr. Browne is a clinical psychologist in the Research Service at the Providence VA Healthcare System and an Assistant Professor (Research) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at Brown University. Her program of research is aimed at improving quality of life and function in adults with serious mental illness. Her current research projects involve developing and evaluating exercise interventions for people with serious mental illness, particularly older adults and those with schizophrenia. She has a strong interest in identifying and evaluating strategies to enhance intervention engagement for this population. She has also conducted a number of studies on the role of the therapeutic alliance in psychosocial treatment for people with schizophrenia and early psychosis.
