Greg Hirth Professor of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences, Chair of Earth, Environmental and Planetary Sciences

I came to Brown from an Associate Scientist position in the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. I also served as a research affiliate in the Department of Earth, Atmospheric, and Planetary Sciences at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. My work has been published in Geology, Nature, Earth and Planetary Sciences , and Tectonophysics, among other journals. I am a member of the American Geophysical Union (AGU), a fellow of the Mineralogical Society of America, and was secretary of the Tectonophysics section of the AGU.
