Throughout my Ph.D program at the University of Alberta and my postdoc at Brown, I discovered a love of teaching mathematics. In 2021 I joined the department at Brown as a Lecturer and began focussing my career on education and the pursuit of fostering more equitable and inclusive math classes.
My mathematical research interests are in algebra, geometry, and combinatorics and I am continuing a small amount of work in these areas when I have time. On the education side of things, I am particularly interested in learning how to promote better self-assessment in my students and studying the effects that this has on student retention in mathematics and the sciences more broadly.
