Expertise & Interests: Laboratory/Pathology Informatics, Medical Education, Gynecologic and Breast Pathology
Dr. Joyce Ou is the Director of Laboratory/Pathology Informatics for the Care New England Health System, Director of Preclerkship Pathology Education at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, and a staff pathologist at Women & Infants Hospital of RI (WIHRI). She is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist with subspeciality expertise in gynecologic and breast pathology. Dr. Ou received her MD and PhD (Neuroscience) degrees from Vanderbilt University, and completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP). She subsequently received fellowship training in both surgical pathology (HUP) and gynecologic and breast pathology (WIHRI). Her academic interests include clinical applications of digital pathology, research on biomarkers for endometrial cancers, and the use of educational technology to enhance interactive and active learning in medical education.
