I work on spatial-prediction and mapping in forests and agriculture using high-resolution remote sensing from the air and space. My research is supported by NASA and focused on statistical model and algorithm development as part of the Global Ecosystem Dynamics Investigation (GEDI). GEDI is a NASA mission on the International Space Station. We focus on algorithm improvement through changes to stratification and quality filtering, and the application of machine-learning models. We also pursue conceptual advances through very high resolution remote sensing from drone and stationary sensors, including high-density lidar and solar-induced fluorescence.
