Overview

Karen E. Aspry, M.D., M.S. FACC FNLA FAHA is a clinical cardiologist, Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine, and Director of the Lipid and Prevention Program for the Lifespan Cardiovascular Institute. Her clinical and research interests are in clinical lipidology and cardiovascular disease prevention, with special interests in diet and heart disease, and in the application of health IT for population management of cardiovascular disease risk. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in nutritional science from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst and University of California-Berkeley, respectively, M.D. degree from the University of California-Davis School of Medicine, and post-graduate training at U.C. Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, California. She was a former senior partner with Kaiser Permanente in Northern California before joining the Brown faculty in 2006.
