Assistant Professor of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences and Data Science, Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Overview

I am an Assistant Professor of Data Science (DSI) and Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences (DEEPS) at Brown University.

My research interest is in scientific machine learning (SciML). My past work has focused on machine learning (ML) for pattern recognition and discovery in large, complex sensor data sets, with applications in earthquake seismology and biodefense.

I received my Sc.B. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University and my M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computational and Mathematical Engineering from Stanford University. I did my postdoctoral training in Computer Science at Harvard University as a Data Science Initiative (HDSI) Postdoctoral Fellow. I was also previously a data scientist at MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
