Kevin McConeghy, Pharm.D., M.S., completed his Pharm.D. at the University of Rhode Island and Masters in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Illinois. His clinical training focused on pharmacotherapy in the area of critical care and infectious diseases. Dr. McConeghy leverages the knowledge and training of a clinical pharmacy specialist with advanced training in econometric and epidemiologic methods. His research focus is on health services and outcomes research in the topical area of medication safety/inappropriate prescribing, antimicrobial use, and vaccination in the acute and long-term care setting. Current projects include the high dose influenza vaccination and adjuvanted influenza vaccine use in the nursing home. The non-traditional health outcomes with influenza illness (e.g. hip fractures). Antimicrobial stewardship interventions in the nursing home to improve antibiotic prescribing.
