Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Human Behavior

Overview

Kayla E. Sall, Ph.D. (she/her), is an Assistant Professor (Clinical) in the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and a Staff Psychologist at Providence Behavioral Health Associates. 

Dr. Sall's work centers the experiences of underserved, underrepresented, and marginalized communities in research on trauma and sexual & reproductive health outcomes. Her research has focused on institutional betrayal experiences among sexual violence survivors, LGBTQ+ health outcomes, and and the intersection of weight, body image, and sexual health. Clinically, she works with folks experiencing adjustment to chronic or rare medical conditions, and has a particular interest in sexual and reproductive health concerns. 

Dr. Sall received her PhD in Clinical Health Psychology from East Carolina University in 2023. She completed her pre-doctoral internship (clinical psychology residency) and postdoctoral fellowship at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is a Licensed Clinical Health Psychologist in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, and is PSYPACT certified. 

Dr. Sall is dedicated to supervision and mentorship of our psychology and psychiatry trainees, and also provides seminars and lectures across the DPHB Training Consortium.
