Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine

Overview

Kelley Doherty Sanzen, PharmD, PAHM, CDOE is Director of Quality Programs for the Division of Kidney Disease and Hypertension and Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.  She is a clinical pharmacist and healthcare quality and outcomes leader with 20+ years of experience spanning pharmaceutical industry, academic medicine, and health system quality improvement. She has deep expertise in CMS-aligned quality initiatives, stakeholder engagement, quality measurement, multidisciplinary collaboration, and value-based care.

Her primary investigational interests are related to appropriate utilization of medications, improving medication taking behaviors and understanding the impact of team-based care on health outcomes in patients with chronic illnesses including kidney disease, hypertension and diabetes. Additional intersts include health literacy, motivational interviewing and applying behavioral economics to healthcare.
