Overview

Lynn Hernandez received her doctoral degree in Lifespan Developmental Psychology and masters degree in Mental Health Counseling from Florida International University. Her research interests include developing and examining behavioral interventions for adolescents of color using community-engaged approaches. The long-term objective of her research activities is to reduce health disparities affecting youth of color by developing culturally appropriate interventions that capitalize on culture specific protective factors and address structural healthcare inequities. She has also developed training programs to enhance the cultural competency of services provided in healthcare and educational settings.
