Laurie Hoffman is a neonatologist with a special interest in medical education and simulation. She obtained her BS in Biochemistry from North Carolina State University (2003) and her MD from University of Connecticut (2009). She is originally from Rhode Island where she returned and has remained at Brown University through completion of her pediatric residency at Hasbro Children’s Hospital (2012) and neonatology fellowship training at Women and Infants Hospital (2015). She has remained on staff as an attending neonatologist at Women and Infants. She is the co-director of the Care New England Simulation Center where she focuses on education of staff, residents, nurse practitioners and fellows in neonatal resuscitation, procedural skill acquisition and maintenance, code leadership, teamwork and communication. She was selected as the Associate Medical Director of the NICU at Women and Infants (November 2020). She serves as the Course Leader for the Brown Medical School Sub-internship in Perinatal Medicine (2020) at Women and Infants. She is the Site Director for the Brown Hasbro Pediatric Residency Program and the Kent Emergency Medicine Program for the NICU and mother-baby rotations (2021).
