Overview

Lindsey Murtagh, JD, MPH, is a Distinguished Senior Fellow in the Department of Health Services, Policy & Practice at the Brown University School of Public Health. Her research is focused at the intersection of law and health, with a focus on health insurance. She previously served as the Director of the Division of Regulation and Policy at the Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.  In this role, Lindsey played a key role in the development of federal policies related to private health insurance including policies related to the No Surprises Act, the Affordable Care Act, mental health parity, coverage of COVID-19 tests and vaccinations, and individual coverage health reimbursement arrangements. Lindsey received her JD from Harvard Law School, her MPH from Harvard School of Public Health, and are AB from Brown University.
